A little about me:

My story: I started my work career in the area of manufacturing intraocular lenses and worked with a company who supplied "Turn-Key" Labs. In this position I was lucky enough to travel around the world meeting and working with people in China, Taiwan, India, Egypt and Spain with miscellaneous stops along the way. I believe China and India have had the greatest impact on me, both beautiful countries and interesting people. After providing eye sight to people around the world who never before believed they would be able to see, I decided I wanted to make a difference in people's life's in a more personal way.

 

I originally started receiving colonics around 1990, after a recommendation by my massage therapist/ friend. I had suffered my entire life with extreme constipation, going weeks at a time without a movement and only then after taking a handful of Correctol. My doctors would recommend “drink more water and changing your diet”, but back then there were no specifics and Google did not exist. Getting colonics, learning about my body and making educated choices were life changing for me. The more I learned the more I wanted to help other people. I will be forever grateful for my colon therapist, Bonnie McClelland and all my other mentors along the way.

 

Through my international travel I developed an interest in alternative healing modalities; studying Reiki, Bach Flower Remedies, Yoga, Herbal & Ayurvedic Medicine, Cranial Sacral Therapy, Lymphatic Drainage, Pranic Healing and Touch for Health.  I have also been a vegetarian. I made the decision to go to massage school in the summer of 1996. Then in 1998, I studied Colon Hydrotherapy at The Dotolo Institute in Tampa with Suzanne Grey and worked with Elaine Smithson here in St. Petersburg learning the Woods gravity method of colon therapy. This forever changed my life. I opened A Healthier You in September of 2001 after 9/11 not knowing what the future would bring but trusting in the process. Closing my business in 2008 was difficult but I knew I needed to be there for my daughter. She benefited from having a “present” mother and I learned a lot from her and her friends whom I have mothered.

 

It has been my pleasure helping people regain control of their health; physically, emotionally and spiritually and I look forward to sharing my experiences with you.
